Keyboard shortcut for logging work and comments

With the new Jira Software view, I am unable to use the "." key while in an issue to quickly log work or add comment without having to move away from the keyboard.

I see this in many new software architectures, the user interface (UI) is moving away from shortcut keys which may be bad for ergonomics and efficiency.

Any ideas how to restore this feature?

   What version of JIRA are you using?

   I just tried it on my latest version of JIRA Cloud and it works fine for me
