Log work by Issue Type

Cloud version - 

Using four primary issue types. Epics, Stories, Task, Sub-Task.

Would really like the ability to allow work to be logged (via Tempo) so that time can only be charged to Stories and Tasks.

I've seen some articles surrounding adding the .denied permission on the Workflow, but was curious if anyone else would have a fix for this.

Are you looking to limit log work entirely for Epic and Sub-task - or only via Tempo?

Given this is a Tempo question, it might also be worthwhile getting their direct help - you can contact the vendor via their support page in Marketplace:

1. Go to Tempo's listing
2. Select the Support tab: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/6572/tempo-timesheets-jira-time-tracking?hosting=cloud&tab=support
3. Use a contact method from the right-hand list

I'd contact Tempo first and see if it can be restricted there.

If not, there might be something you can do in Jira - although it might be a workaround. For example, use Automation in this manner...

• Trigger: Work Logged
• Condition: Issue Type not in (Epic, Task)
• Action: Edit Issue - clear Hours Logged
• Action: Send Email - let user know hours can only be logged on Epics and Tasks
