Markdown not Rendering in Description Field

James

Hi,

Thank you in advance for taking the time to read this and respond.

We have imported into Jira Cloud from a modified about 500 Zephyr issue types and the markdown is not rendering. I have checked the field render is set to the Wiki renderer, but not had to deal with this problem before. What renderer do I need for the markdown to render correctly. If it is not available in Jira cloud, any advice on how to modify the 500 issues that all have this markdown in so that the markdown is at least deleted, but better it is replaced with something that does render, would be much appreciate.

Hello @James

The Description field in Jira Cloud has only two rendering options; Default text and Wiki Style, as mentioned in this document

https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/configure-renderers/

The document includes information about each and a link to another page that provides more detail about Wiki Style notation.

It seems like the Rendering option might be set to Default Text for you. That Rendering option is set for the field in the Field Configuration that is associated to your project. Note that changing the Rendering will affect all issues in all projects that share that Field Configuration.
