Navigating Portfolio Hierarchy in Jira Cloud Using JQL\Scriptrunner

Richard_Donnell

Does anyone know if the upcoming changes to move Epic link and parent link to 'Parent' will provide the exposure to allow the portfolio hierarchy traversing functions in ScriptRunner for cloud?

i.e. the portfolionparentsof() and portfoliochildrenof() functions.

Or any other method of properly filtering the hierarchy?

If not - when will this be fixed?

I am quite interested in this too.

Also, what I don't understand is that seemingly, the cloud variant of Jira does not provide sufficient APIs for plugins to navigate portfolio parent/children relations while server/datacenter does. I could understand that, but at the same time it appears as if JQL Search Extensions supports this - also for Cloud.

Do anyone know if something changed recently and JQL Search Extensions happened to implement support first, and we should expect Scriptrunner to support this too soon?

Alternatively, perhaps the documentation for JQL Search Extensions is wrong or that plugin has access to special APIs that other plugins does not?

Thanks

/Martin

Through additional searching, I found that there is a place for ideas/suggestions for Scriptrunner and that this has already been suggested and is gathering interest.

https://scriptrunner-for-jira-cloud.nolt.io/

Based on comments on suggestions for Cloud support for portfolionparentsof() and portfoliochildrenof() I guess it confirms that as of October 2023, it is still not supported, but also that it seems like something that is on the way.
