On a schedule create an Epic with Tasks with Sub-Tasks

Alex Wasserman September 30, 2020

Hi all,

I'm looking to, on a schedule, create an Epic, with Tasks, and those tasks to have Sub-Tasks.

I have my Epic and associated tasks being created quite nicely on a schedule, however I can't work out how to get specific sub-tasks onto specific issues.

Looks like I can't create another branch under the first one, which would allow me to branch and redo the "Most recently created".

If I do another branch after that first one with another "Most Recently Created" it doesn't see the newly created tasks, just the originally created Epic.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Alex

Hey there Alex,

You can't double branch at the moment but you can create a new rule (make sure you have the "This rule can be triggered from other rules" option checked) that listens to On Created events, checks some condition so you know the issues were the newly created ones and then add subtasks to the newly created issues

Hope that helps!

It's pretty nasty to have to have an automation trigger on Create (very frequent activity), to catch a monthly event. I was really hoping not to have to do that and to find a nicer answer.
