Project Admin Role Error

Hi Atlassian Expert,

I've read one of the articles regarding the Updating user's project role fails with error "Something went wrong. Try again" | Jira | Atlassian Documentation.

Can give some explanation, some of the users which is Project Admin, have Browse users and Groups in global permission, but it works for them (no error) as per articles above.

I don't understand the behavior of this configuration.

Can someone explain to me?

Hello @Azri 

First you need to understant the usage of "Browse Users and Groups" Permission.

It is used for View and select users or groups from the user picker. Users with this permission can see the names of all users and groups on your site. They can @mention people on issues.

So for example, It enables users to @mention specific individuals or groups in issue comments or descriptions, fostering better collaboration and communication among team members. and, People who have this permission can quickly find and choose their team members

Additionally, having this permission provides visibility of all users and groups on the site to the admins.
