I am setting up a new project with workflows but want some of the issue types to have a different workflow then other workflows that I am inheriting. After assigning the new workflow to a couple of the issue types (task, sub-task) and clicking Publish I get a confirmation screen that states "The current status of each issue needs to be changed so that it is compatible with the new workflows".
My question is that the scope of change will only effect the new workflow and issue types, not any of the other projects that might be associated with different workflow and issue types? To put another way, the status change will only be for the project and workflow that I have defined in the new project, none of the status will change in the old project?
Hello @dave_chaffee
Welcome to the community.
Workflows are associated to Issue Types in Workflow Schemes.
If you have added Workflow/Issue Type associations to a Workflow Scheme that is shared by multiple projects, then the specified Issue Types (of those new associations) in all the projects sharing that scheme will be affected.
If the Workflow Scheme is shared by multiple projects that have the Task and Sub-task issue types, all those Tasks and Sub-task issues in all those projects will be impacted.
Thanks @Trudy Claspill that helps
