Allow to edit only time tracking field

I have jira,edit.issue set to false on my in progress status. When the issue is in progress I do not want the active information to be editable. However this also causes a  connection error when I try to log time on the in progress issue. I want to prevent editing on all fields except the time logging firld. Nothing I have tried works including the Jira.permission properties

Do you mind me asking why do you want the in progress issue to not be editable in the first place? Why is the focus only on time logging?
