I am installing Jira Server.
The DB configuration worked, now I should set up the application properties.
For this I should enter a name, a mode and the base URL.
I have done that, but the setup doesn't go on. There is a short message below that Jira is being configured, but the cursor jumps back to the Name field.
No matter what I enter, the cursor stops at this position.
What else can I do now?
We have switched to postgres only for Jira and it works imediatly!
Thank you very much for the hint.
I will try that out and report here whether it worked for us as well.
I just wonder why the support does not get involved here?

Same Problem! (Linux)
Maybe we use mysql 8 on the server which works fine with confluence.
In Jira the only possibilities (with drop down) are mysql 5.6 or 5.7+.
The test connection works only with 5.6! DBtables are created and than stops at the page "application properties".
To start/stop the jira service, reinstall, always the same.
The internal test db works without problems.
Any ideas?

Isn't there anybody here who can help me?
