Hello everyone,
I want to create an automation in Jira that creates a confluence page whenever the Jira issue status changes. This works nicely, but I got one problem here.
I want to create the new page as a child of an existing page. Unfortunately, this page is called "Stories". When I type "Stories" in the input field for the parent page while creating the test automation, the dropdown shows me maybe the first 20 hits, but not the page that Im looking for.
Am I doing something wrong? Is there some way to search more specific or to directly reference a specific page?
update:
The page called "Stories" is definitely there. And I can find other pages without problem. I suspect my problem is because "Stories" generates too many search hits and the dropdown is somehow limited in showing only the first x entries.
Thanks in advance,
Peter
Only idea I got so far is renaming the name with the kind-of generic name "Stories" to something way more specific, that is easier to find, like "Stories for Team blabla".
And then, later on, renaming it back to "Stories".

Hello @Peter Bösenberg
If you don't mind using an add-on, Elements Publish to Confluence lets you do exactly what you are asking.
Full disclosure: I'm the Product Manager of the app.
With our app you can create Confluence pages from Jira issues. It integrates with Automation, but it has many more features than the native solution. Indeed, you can :
You can easily select your space and parent page without worrying about generic title :)
The app is free for 30 days, (and stays free if your instance is under 10 users), so feel free to give it a try, and don't hesitate to get back to me.
Regards,
Thibaut

Thank you, this sounds interesting. I wouldn't mind using a plugin. Unfortunately, that's far from my decision and would be a long, long process...

Hey Peter,
Can't really tell from the screenshot but have you perhaps tried to use inverted commas to isolate the parent page name? Something like "Stories" should limit your serch only to the page called Stories and prevent other results from showing up, like for example Stories about me.
Let me know if this helps!

First of all: Thanks for you help!
Tried it, but "Stories" still is part of too many pages. I can scroll down until pages starting with the letter "D".
I suppose there is some kind of trick to search for exactly this title, but Im still looking for this trick
