Hi there
I have a Big Picture for several projects all with Epics and stories(tasks)...all linked beautifully in Big Picture Gantt chart. However when I add additional stories it does not link them to the original project/epic but leaves them at the bottom of the Gantt chart associated with no project.
Have checked that the task is linked to the Epic in JIRA (outside of Big Picture) and have re synced the data but still the new tasks do not link up.
I would really appreciate if someone could help figure this one out or I wont be able to use the Big Picture Gantt feature moving forward.
Many thanks
Julie
Hi @Julie McGing,
Please, contact us via our Portal. It will be faster to approach your issue this way.
Got that issue too, and apparently it's a limitation with Jira next-gen projects, that BigPicture team is well aware of and cannot fix until Jira re-add missing features.
It's clearly stated here:
No Sub-tasks in next-gen projects,
No Epic Link in next-gen projects
Btw, the page is also a tutorial about how to work around the problem ; turns out it's outdated already (Jira next-gen UI has changed since then) and it's only for Big Gantt anyway, not Bit Picture.

I've had the same issue - where I would add new cards to the board, then open Big Picture but the new cards are not pulled in.
Fix - inside Big Picture click on Data dropdown, then Task Mode, now set it to manual.

Hello, what was the solution for the problem? I have the same problem with manually created links.
The dependency will not be displayed in gantt, if the link is set manually in the issue. In my case the link must be created in gantt to display the dependency in gantt.
Best regards
Sven
