Can i provide the different key for Tasks and bugs in JIRA software

I want to add the different keys in tasks, bugs and epic Please guide me how to differentiate between them.

Hi @Priyansh Dhanwani and welcome!

The only way to have different issue keys in Jira is to create different Jira projects. So in your case, you would need one separate project for tasks, one project for bugs and so on.

But I am wondering what your actual use case is? Maybe there is another solution for that which is better supported by Jira than creating different projects.

Hi @Priyansh Dhanwani welcome to the community.  Keys are based on the project and not the issue type.

Hello @Priyansh Dhanwani - Can you confirm your use case.

In case you want to just differentiate in any of the filters, you can always setup on create automation - and depending on issue type - you can update the custom field.

This custom field can be used as a filter wherever needed.

Besides - even without custom field - you always have issue type - to differentiate and filter out the issues.
