Just a heads up: On March 24, 2025, starting at 4:30pm CDT / 19:30 UTC, the site will be undergoing scheduled maintenance for a few hours. During this time, the site might be unavailable for a short while. Thanks for your patience.
×Our users are just getting used to Jira and we're investigating Tempo to track our time spent on each ticket. Some of our agents will want to use the "tracker", but then they may forget to log the time once they finish tracking it.
Is there a way to report on time tracked that has not yet been logged?
Hello @Laura Meine
As an alternative to the mentioned add-on, I recommend you to try Time in Status for Jira Cloud. With this app you can track:
- the time spent is each status;
- how long each assignee has been working on issues;
- track the lifecycle for each issue (Cycle and Lead time);
- monitor time in status data directly on the issue card layout.
And much more helpful information with the 7 types of status reports.
All these features are available even the work is not logged yet.
This add-on is developed by my team. Please, let me know if you have any questions
Hi @Laura Meine
As an alternative, you can try Status Time Reports app developed by our team. It mainly provides reports and gadgets based on how much time passed in each status.
Here is the online demo link, you can see it in action and try without installing the app.
If you are looking for a free solution, you can try the limited version Status Time Free.
Hope it helps.

Hi @Laura Meine
As an alternative, you can try our app :
The add-on provides the time in each status for the entire lifecycle of the issue, based on the date range, assignees and multiple other filters, and various graphs too.
Also you can group your statuses to create your own resolution time.
Do try it out.
Disclaimer : I work for RVS, the vendor for this app

Hello @Laura Meine,
If you are OK with using a marketplace app for this, our team at OBSS built Timepiece - Time in Status for Jira for this exact need. It is available for Jira Server, Cloud, and Data Center.
Time in Status mainly allows you to see how much time each issue spent on each status or each assignee.
Using Time in Status, you can get time reports from your issues, as long as your users update Jira issues on time.
The app has Consolidated Columns feature. This feature allows you to combine the duration for multiple statuses into a single column and exclude unwanted ones. It is the most flexible way to get any measurement you might want. Measurements like Issue Age, Cycle Time, Lead Time, Resolution Time etc.
For all numeric report types, you can calculate averages and sums of those durations grouped by the issue fields you select. For example total in-progress time per Vertical or average resolution time per sprint, week, month, issuetype, request type, etc. The ability to group by parts of dates (year, month, week, day, hour) or sprints is particularly useful here since it allows you to compare different time periods or see the trend.
The app calculates its reports using already existing Jira issue histories so when you install the app, you don't need to add anything to your issue workflows and you can get reports on your past issues as well. It supports both Company Managed and Team Managed projects for Jira Cloud.
Time in Status reports can be accessed through its own reporting page, dashboard gadgets, and issue view screen tabs. All these options can provide both calculated data tables and charts.
