CloudToCloud sync tools with a price model not based on number of users in both tenants?

joakime December 28, 2022

Hi

I need to syncronize jiras created in a project at a customer cloud jira tenant to our company cloud jira teneant (=one way integration). For that i'm looking for the best sync tools. The customer are  willing to install an app on their side but they do not need it and therefor does not want to pay for it.

All tools I can find does have a price model based on number of users in BOTH tenants. That will not work beucase we are only 15 users in our tenant but the customer does have >1000 users.

Is there

  • Any free sync tool?
  • Tools that have a price model based on number of users in our tenent only?
  • Tool that have a price model based on the users in the projects to be sunscronized?

Regards

Joakim

Hi @joakime

Exalate has a free pricing plan. I've used it in the past and was very impressed with it.

https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1213645/exalate-jira-issue-sync-more?tab=overview&hosting=cloud

You could pay for your end and run a free version at the client. You'd have to confirm with exalate how that would work. The free end will have a limit of 1000 issue per month.

Hi @joakime

Most synchronization solutions rely on direct communication between plugins installed on both synchronized instances so once buying an app from Marketplace the application license tier has to match the maximum number of users of the Jira products on your instance.

Still, it's usually possible to get a custom offer when contacting a given vendor or partner directly. It's surely the case of Deviniti and our tool Issue Sync - Synchronization for Jira.
If you are interested to learn more, feel free to contact our Sales Department.

Best regards,
Kasia

Hi again,

I noticed that your question has been answered - great to see that!

Still, as someone else might have a similar question in the future I would like to share info about a brand new and free solution by Deviniti - Issue Sync Lite.
This app allows admins to connect two Jira Cloud instances and sync projects, issue types, fields, and comments (and soon attachments) between them.
It doesn't require coding and the whole configuration should take just minutes.

If that sounds interesting, my team will be happy to present the tool during a free demo session.

Hi @joakime

OpsHub, an Atlassian partner, provides a free Community Edition that integrates most of the issue types between two Jira instances without having to install any plug-in in the customer’s Jira instance. As you mentioned, the customer does not need or want the plugin, and they would like to be disturbed as little as possible by this integration. OpsHub integration offers you complete flexibility to modify the integration as and when required, without interacting with the customer.

Additionally, OpsHub Community Edition provides rich integration capabilities, like:

  • Integration Richness: In addition to integrating all basic fields, it also integrates attachments, web links, comments, mentions, traceability, and inline images.
  • User-friendly GUI: Users can configure integrations from a user-friendly GUI, in no time, without having to write complex scripts.
  • Field-level Conflict Management: It enables you to define a conflict resolution policy when data in your Jira contradicts the updates coming from the customer’s environment.

You can get started immediately with OpsHub’s Community Edition without requiring any call or license.

Thanks

Brad
