Conditional Required Fields in Jira Tickets

Are we able to make fields, such as Roadblock Reason a required field WHEN (only when) a user changes the status to 'Roadblocked'?????

You can set up a validation rule for the transition to "Roadblocked". This transition rule would check the "Roadblocked Reason" field and if it is blank, then it will give an error. I have created a screen that will pop up and ask for the required field when attempting to make the transition.
