Creating a webhook for Discord

lloyd_ramsamy August 19, 2020

Hi everyone,

I'm currently trying to implement webhooks on Discord where a link will appear for tickets created with the highest priority.

I had done the following so far:

1) I've created a webhook on Discord

2) I've added the URL to the Discord webhook I'm creating on JIRA

3) Under events, I've ticked the "Created" checkbox under "Issues"

4) I've set a parameter under JQL Query for making the issues created being the highest priority (Priority = Highest)

I've saved that, but I still get no notifications on Discord. What am I doing wrong?

Hi @lloyd_ramsamy

Please can you check if the WebHook is enabled or not?

Thanks

Kinnera

Hi Kinnera, Thank you for the response.

The webhook is set to enabled. I tried doing another test by disabling and re-enabling it, but I still don't get any notifications on Discord.

Hi @lloyd_ramsamy

Please can you check the below:

  • Did you create a channel in Discord specific to the creation of the automatic tickets?
  • Assume this link https://zapier.com/apps/discord/integrations/jira and please select the Trigger as New priority and select the Action as Send Channel message and now click on connect discord + JIRA Software server
  • Now you can take the webhook URL and paste it in your JIRA with all the steps that you mentioned in the description

Now it should work!!

Thanks

Kinnera

Hi @Kinnera _Appfire_ - Thank you for the response again!

I'm trying the method that you sent, but it's asking me to sign in to the JIRA Software Server. Is this safe to do?
