HI @Stefan Frey Please can you share the ticket number that you had logged with Atlassian for this so I can vote on it. This is really annoying for us admins that have to configure custom fields to projects and you have hundreds of projects including archived projects appearing in the project list in such a small widow frame.

Hallo Kasturee!
Here the Feedback vom Atlassian Support (19. Oct. 2022):
Hi Stefan Frey ,
Thank you so much for your patience.
I understand that you'd like to hide an archived project from a Project picker custom field. This happens because those archived projects are still associated with permission schemes that let users browse issues.
In order to fix this please follow the below steps:
Create a new permission scheme, let's say "Archived projects".
Make sure that the "Browse project" permission is not granted to any user, group, or project role.
Associate the "Archived projects" permission scheme with the Archived projects.
The steps to create a new scheme and modify it are available in this knowledge article: Manage project permissions.
— I would also like to inform you that we do have an open Feature Request for this, I strongly recommend you to vote in this feature request and drop a comment to let the product management know about your use case. Doing this will ensure you’re proactively informed of progress and updates going forward. Please, note that all of the feature requests are implemented following our Feature Request Policy.
Kindly let me know if you require additional assistance, I shall be happy to assist!
Thanks & Regards,
