I am the owner of my Jira project, however when I attempt to delete a Task I get the following message.
It seems that you have tried to perform an operation which you are not permitted to perform.
If you think this message is wrong, please contact your Jira administrators.
Hi @rhensman2
Do you have the Delete issues permission in the permission scheme associated with your project?
Are you able to delete other issue types within the same project?
Hi Dave
I don't think I have any permission schemes associated with my project as I am on the free tier.
I am unable to delete any issue types.
Looking at my user I can see that I am a member of the administration groups, however my Produce role for Jira is only User. Not sure if that is correct.
Thanks
Richard

Then I understood your question incorrectly. You do not need to delete an Issue Type. Edit the Issue Type Scheme, remove an issue type included in the scheme. When saving, you'll be asked to choose another issue type for the issues associated with the initial issue type.
There is however this remark:
In order for an issue type to be deleted, it needs to be associated with one workflow, field configuration and field screen scheme across all projects. If this is not the case, Jira can not provide a list of valid replacement issue types.

Could I get some more help with this please? I am still unable to delete any issues in Jira

Hi,
To check your rights on a project : <<JIRA_URL>>/plugins/servlet/project-config/<<PROJECT_KEY>>/permissions
Search : "Delete Issues"
If you are an admin, you can watch here : <<JIRA_URL>>/secure/admin/PermissionHelperAdmin.jspa
