×Mainly, i was trying to create a utilization plan for every employee in the department so i decided to use the Kanban board and to add a duration for every issue card.
i was trying to add duration for every issue card but i didn't find any solution for that in order to track the utilization.
is there any smart way to track that knowing that my main target is to create a stack that has employee name in the Y-axis and the working hours in the X-axis -the x-axis contain the working hours as 40 is the 8 working hours per week (8hrs x 5 days) and to track who's utilized and who's over utilized.
Hi!
You can use a time tracking plugin like TMetric to effectively track utilization.
TMetric integrates seamlessly with Jira, allowing you to set estimated durations for tasks and track actual time spent. It provides detailed reports on employee workloads, making it easy to visualize who is under-utilized or over-utilized.
Additionally, you can export the data to analyze workloads against the 40-hour week benchmark. This approach simplifies tracking and ensures better resource management.
Hi, Unfortunately JIRA does not offer out of the box solution for this. You can try some addons like Timescale or others. They have a people utilisation reports

Hello,
Developer behind Clockwork here. I've made a quick sample data to illustrate here what can be achieved with our app:
Our Clockwork Pro version (the paid one) is able to highlight the over-utilized and under-utilized personnel on specific days.
Cheers,

Looks like our plugin fit your requirement. ActivityTimeline plugin is a resource management add-on for Jira that provides an resource utilization plan in a single view.
You can select project, team or several employees by skills or position. Then you can just drag-n-drop the task to assign and schedule. The system will automatically calculate the workload or worklog or both (depends what you will need).
Also, there are an ability to create numerous reports based on information from Jira and ActivityTimeline:

A similar feature is on our roadmap for Skills for Jira. Currently SfJ offers you Analytics that helps identify skills demand for your JQL query and compare it with your team's supply, highlighting skill scarcity and bottlenecks. It also quantifies the demand in skill/hours (or skill/SPs) but doesn't quantify the demand/supply comparison.
We plan to also quantify the comparison and find over/under-utilization. It will suggest efficient team compositions based on skills demand and resource pool.
It will show you:
Happy to hear your thoughts and suggestions as well.
