Can anyone help ? I can't get to the Epic field when using the Epic issue type
The field is not available through Project Management Edit/View Issue Screen.
Has this issue type really been dropped ?
Hi James/Ann,
Please go to the "Custom Fields" area from Settings-->Issues-->Custom Fields. Search for the "Epic" related field (Epic Name/Epic Color) and click three dots towards right side of that field.
You'll get a popup to where you'll have "Screens" as an option, choose that so you can associate your screen for the epic field and then you're good to go. If that doesn't work the field might be restricted to particular "Issuetype/Projects". You can go through the KB (Configuring a custom field) if this is the case.

Prakash
Thank you so much! I can see my epics on the board.
Now my next question, last year when I created an epic, my board didn’t say sprint. Is this new? If I remember correctly, I didn’t see sprint in that section before. I thought you needed to actually create a sprint but now it’s just there. I may be a bit confused, this is my second day of returning after a year. Last year it was so clear to me, this year the layout is a bit confusing.
Thanks again!
Ann

Hi Ann,
Project admins or the one who have "Create Sprint" permission might have created the Sprint in board. That's why you are seeing the Sprint.
You can read the KB's Sprint planning and how to use Active Sprints for better understanding of sprints in Jira Board.

I'm re visiting jira after a year. Last year, no problem! This new layout, big issue with me. I can't figure it out either, before it was so easy creating epics now I'm confused. If you figure it out, please let me know. Thanks!
