Frequently have to reload tab to make an attachment or embed image in story

So I'm one of those one-story-per-tab people and wind up with dozens of tabs throughout the day.   Occasionally I will have one set of tabs (X Tabs) for user account X and another set of tabs (Y Tabs) for user account Y.

And 'switching' accounts, while not directly supported in Jira AFAIK, is easily done by reloading a tab in one of the groups.  Go back through auth, and then you are back at the story of interest.  But all of the other tabs are still sitting there with respect to this change in authentication.  And they'll just go on working provided one is logged in with the correct user account X for the X tabs and so forth.  And multiple 'switches' between accounts can be done.

But this is not quite true.  File uploading does not work after 'switching' accounts - for the other tabs that remained sitting there.  The story remains editable, but something happens to the back-end and things get janky.  But just for attaching/embedding images functionality.  And of course refreshing that post-account-switch tab then enables the attaching/embedding to work great in that tab.

Anyway, not as much a question as an observation for anyone interested or knowledgeable about exactly what is going on causing this condition.

Hi Rich,

I'm the Product Manager in the Media team at Atlassian. I look after the attachments and images experience across Jira and Confluence.

We have a fix that the Jira team are helping us on which we think should resolve these issues. These relate to when you leave a browser window open for a long period of time, come back and try to upload, but then see the upload fail. We added in a similar fix for Confluence recently which greatly reduced upload issues so I'm hoping we'll have the same success in Jira. A fix for this should be coming in the next couple weeks. In the short term refreshing a page which has been open a long time before uploading is the workaround.
