I would like to add issues created from another JIRA board to the list of issues in Release tab of JIRA board. Is there a smart way to add them?

I'd like to avoid to duplicate or either clone an issue in my board.

Thanks

Hi @Marsico, Tommaso

Trust you are well.

Releases are bound to projects. If your issues belong to a single project there are smart ways to assign. If they sit in different projects this is simply not possible technically.

If you want to do it cross-project there are couple of options:

  • use labels
  • use custom fields for your default workflows
  • use cross-project releases in Advanced Roadmaps
  • use Partner Apps with focus on cross-project release management (e.g. this is one of our Apps - Release Management for Jira)

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Yuri.

I don't think there's any smart way, but you can consider using third-party Jira plugins that can help with cross project dependencies and releases
