How do I send an email through Jira? Do I need admin setup for that?

Can you provide more information about what you are trying to do?

Are you trying to Share an issue by sending a message about it through Email?

Are you wanting to @ mention a user so that they will receive a notification?

Are you wanting a message to automatically be sent to somebody based on a one-time change you are making to the issue?

Thanks for getting back so quickly! I am wanting to make sure the person I mentioned in a comment in Jira gets an email notification.

If you mention a user in a comment, Jira will attempt to send an email to that user. The user has the option to change their personal settings concerning email notifications so that they don't get the email.

Can you elaborate ? You need to send an email to Jira to be able to create an issue from this email ?

Or do you need to send an email from Jira to an external tool ?
