×Hi,
I'm creating a workflow for my technician. Each of the step in the process requires 3 statuses: To do, In Progress, Troubleshooting. How do I create a workflow which contain the same statuses for each step - which he can then check back daily to monitor his progress for each step?
I tried using 3 different transitions for each step, but we couldn't differentiate where he's at (to do, in progress, troubleshooting). One option (which seems rather bulky) is to have 3 separate statuses per step.
Anyone has a better idea?
Thanks!
Hi Cindy - why wouldn't you create a different status for each one? To Do - Step 1, To Do - Step 2, etc. ?
Hi @Cindy Chan ,
I think you can customize a drop-down selection field to identify To do, In Progress, Troubleshooting.
In addition, the workflow is still used as a status to reflect the actual processing of the issue.

@John Funk @Ollie Guan: Thanks for suggestions. Sometimes I need reminder for the obvious. I tried John's suggestion of "to do - Step 1, to do - Step 2..." but it looked quite messy since it's a workflow with >10 steps. I could do that if my technician would prefer that option. I'm trying out Ollie's suggestion at the moment to add a drop-down selection for now. Thanks again!

Understood - was just thinking that was the best way to get you metrics on time in status for each one. If you don't need that, then yes, a simple custom field with those values could be added. Then as you move from one step to the next, the initial value resets itself to To Do.
