How use JIRA for ART SYNC safe

Hello ,

We want to use JIRA for our ART Sync and JOB sizing rituals for our project structured by a SAFe train. Do you have any suggestions or proposals for improving the efficiency of these rituals?

Hi Fatima,

Here are a few tips:

Focus on 3 topics per team:
- What are the risks & impediments?
- Will you get there?
- Do you need help?

Don't discuss what goes well (just let a tool show 'green indicators' in the background in that case).  This helped me reduce the time of Art Syncs by 50% at one customer. People simply stop being in a mindset of 'telling all the work they've done' and focusing more on 'where do I need help - what needs to be discussed'. 

Use a meet-after and offline topics board. Don't discuss all the details in the ART Sync meeting itself with everyone present. Timebox the time for each team. This further reduces the time of the meeting itself.

When discussions arise, take lean & agile decisions. (e.g. Build incrementally, step by step. Learn continuously, try things out.). This also helps to stop discussions and go into a 'let's try this - if it doesnt' work, we can try something else later'.

Ativo has a dedicated ART sync (progress board) that supports the above 3 main discussion points. The view below exists per team, and at ART level (combined). Because the tool shows the progress in the background, teams don't have to tell everything themselves - and you can win a lot of time.
