Is there a REST api call to create a subtask in a Next Gen Project?

We are trying to switch over to the next gen project and would like to automatically create a subtask after the issue is created.  We use Scriptrunner to do this exact thing in the classic projects.  I can add a script listener but need to use the REST api to create the sub task.  I cannot find any docs on how to do this with the next gen project.

I'm not aware that the REST call to create sub-tasks in Next-gen projects is different to Classic projects. The object, a type of issue, is the same.

You are correct.  I had something wrong with my first attempt.  It is the same calls.
