Is there a way to avoid the duplicates while uploading in to JIRA using JIRA import.

Hi,

I am Using Excel for External Import. I would like to get an clarification regarding import. The scenario is explained below:

If I import 100 issues to JIRA and they have successfully imported. when i try to import for the next time, Unknowingly if I have an issue which was previously imported. Does JIRA checks and remove the duplicated issue or does it import that duplicated issue again into JIRA.

If JIRA allows that, is there any way to remove that.

Thanks,

Vijay

It has no way of knowing if your data refers to stuff you imported before, so it has to assume the new import is new issues.

You should delete the previously imported issues and run the import again.  You will, of course, get new issue IDs for the new issues.
