Has anyone had any experience with the standard JIRA field Labels and many, many labels? I've got a client with around 5000 labels at the moment and they were asking about the performance of Labels compared with a multiselect field. Any experience around this?

Yup, eight different sets of information all squished into one field. Tricky to run reports on.

Off topic, but that sounds like a load of labels, Matt. Are they perhaps intermingling concepts of 'version', 'epic', 'component', and 'labels' into a grab bag style attribute? Wow.

We only have about 40 labels; we may double that in 18 mos.
