Hi, I’m wondering if there is a way to set up regular Slack notifications that don’t rely on specific changes in Jira.
I can see how to get notifications when an issue is updated but I’m looking for some functionality that is more general.
The specific use case which I’d find very beneficial would be a notification each morning with information on the issues in a particular column of the Jira project’s kanban board e.g. the number of tickets currently sitting in ‘Waiting for Review’.
From looking online this currently only seems possible from using an API and/or external apps. The JQL options would allow to easily filter to only the tickets of interest so it’s just the Slack integration and notification creation which is required.
Hey @Jacob Leiser , welcome to the Community!
This is easily done with Automation inside Jira. I've written an article that goes over setting up something very similar, using a schedule-based trigger rather than events on issues. Take a look here: Morning Slack digest of open Jira issues . With some slight adjustment, it sounds like this matches what you're looking to do.
Cheers,
Daniel
