Need history search on labels

vsajjan August 11, 2020

My labels on jira has been changed/updated based on releases.

To do the release retrospection I would need to find all jiras which were updated with specific label which is not the present label

I am trying to do this

labels was in (15.5,15.5.0,15.5_Prod, 15.5.0_Prod)

But getting the below response from jira

History searches do not support the 'labels' field.

Hi @vsajjan

Labels isn't possible to search via WAS or similar historic search operators.

One option for doing this is to use an app instead to track label changes - such as Issue History.

Hello,

The field label doesn't support the operator "WAS".

When i see your labels, i'm asking why you are using label for versionning instead of Release ?

Hope it will help you,

Regards,

Fixversion are for bigger releases. For patches and other tracking and reports we use labels. Above was just an example of my day to day usages
