×Hello
I am a Scrum Master for multiple teams and helping a larger group of teams in my division in getting data exported from Jira (cloud) to Power Bi.
No one at our company had implemented a direct integration. (Azure Dev ops has this functionality)
Is this possible (direct integration), or do we always have to use a third party app?
Is there any documentation showing step by step instructions on how to install, configure, do this connection, upload of data.
- direct integration
- Using an app
I did do a search FIRST in the community for this topic, but I got a bit confused as Jira Server was mentioned all the time, and I wasn't sure if this instance is different from Jira Cloud? (maybe it should be obvious, but it isn't)
Thank you everyone for your time.
Jira Cloud and Jira Server/DC (on-prem) are different products with different functionality, pricing, and architecture. Jira Server/DC is hosted and maintained by the customer while Jira Cloud is hosted and maintained by Atlassian (the easiest way to confirm is looking at your URL if it is <site-name>.atlassian.com then it is cloud).
As for the integration between Jira and Power BI you have two options:
@Sayed Bares [ServiceRocket] wow you are really amazing and SO very helpful. Yes I confirmed we are on Jira Cloud. I will check into the options you mentioned.
Appreciate your input!

If you are searching for a free option for direct integration you can try to find a solution in this topic:

But if you are also considering using a third-party app you are welcome to try our Microsoft Power Bi Connector for Jira. You will have a 30-day free trial to decide whether it's the best solution for your needs or not.
Best regards,
Max

Dear @mari_guernsey
I can comment on the "using the app" part of your question :)
Here is a detailed steb-by-step guide how to do this using Power BI Connector for Jira app:
In case you get interested in this option, feel free to schedule a live demo session with our team to explore more features and functionality.
