A report that shows ticket history for a current sprint

Yaso Bala July 21, 2022 edited

Hi everyone, I help oversee a a few sprints. When I run my daily stand up's, I want to see 'what has moved over the past 24 hours'.

Is there anything like this that I can configure / setup in Atlassian?

I find myself desiring a report that I can get to from Reports view (where other reports reside e.g. burndown chart, velocity chart etc).

The report would show me: for the selected sprint [current], the history of each ticket. For example:

Ticket #123 moved from:

  • 'in progress' to 'dev complete' on date x
  • 'dev complete' to 'in review' on date y
  • 'in review' to 'to do' on date z

Ticket #124 moved from:

  • in review' to 'to do' on date x
  • 'to do' to 'dev complete' on date y
  • 'in progress' to 'dev complete' on date z

Currently, I make do with advanced search & order by most recently updated > then go into the tickets that have moved yesterday > click history.

Thanks in advance for reading and chipping in!

Hi @Yaso Bala

Out of the box you will not be able to do this.

I suggest you look into 3rd party reporting plugins such as eazybi, time in status, and others.

If you go to their sites, you will find exactly what you are looking for.

Thanks @Fabian Lim , my initial research did indicate as such. Was just trying my luck here! :) Appreciate your confirming - I can put my researching hat to rest.

I do wonder if  there is a feature request in the pipelines for this. I would +1

I doubt it. This is one of the most frequent asked question in the forums for years and nothing has happened.

Thanks, @Fabian Lim, for recommending eazyBI.

@Yaso Bala, with eazyBI, you can analyze Sprints from different perspectives, including the issue status transitions over the sprint period.

Hello @Yaso Bala

Additionally to the answers above, you can also try Time in Status for Jira Cloud and its Status Entrance Date report.  It shows the date when the issue has entered each of the statuses, so you can easily track when the issue moves between statuses.

This add-on is developed by my team and is free for teams up to 10 users.

Hope it helps you

Hi @Yaso Bala

Check out Issue History for Jira app. My team has developed it for similar cases you described. Here you can create a report for the list of tickets/issues by adding any standard or custom field as a grid's column. Also, you can filter by sprints, projects, assignees, dates, etc.

For example:

Export of issues history is also available. There is 30-days free trial, so you can check in if fit your needs.

Hi @Yaso Bala

If you are fine with a mktplace app, you can try out our add-on to get this data. The Status Transition Dates report in the app will suffice your requirement.

Pretty cool Rahul, thanks for chipping in. My use case is still small, so I am doubtful of getting $ approval at this stage. Appreciate you dropping by! 🙏🏽
