Hi All
When you click on add flag on a board in JIRA cloud, it gives you an option to add flag with comment.
However, We would like to just add the flag and do not need the comment option.
The server version of JIRA gives both option: to add flag and to add flag with comment.
How can we achieve this in JIRA cloud?
Regards
Rajat
Hi @Rajat
There used to be a similar option in Jira Cloud on the board, but it was removed sometime ago. You can see the feature request to re-implement this at JRACLOUD-63745
However, it does appear that from the options list (3-dots icon) on the new issue view the "Add Flag" option on:
...both have an "Add Flag" option which does not bring up a comment box.
-------------------
And on the old issue view you can still add the field "Flagged" to the screen and use this to flag an issue - to do this you'll need to be a Jira Admin and then:
^ This will add the flag to the board without a comment.
-------------------
Finally, you can flag issues in the new view - or in either view without adding the field to the screen - using Bulk Change via Issue Search to edit "Flagged", which does not require a comment either.

I have the opposite problem - I want a comment so is it possible to add that pop up for a comment if I add the flagged to a screen (as the backlog isn't where the users would usually be when they add a flag)
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
As in you want to ensure there is a comment if a user selects a flag?
You could do this within a status transition (with a custom screen and validator) - but it's not possible natively from the normal issue view when just editing the field.
