Hello, I'm a Jira admin. We would like to put some template information (pre-defined info) in description field in Jira ticket. I tried to config that in our Jira project. However, I couldn’t make it work. Could someone please shed me some light on this?
Hello @Rose Ran
Welcome to the Atlassian community!
Here are some reference materials on how to add template text to a Description field for a Company Managed project.

Hi @Rose Ran
I recommend the free app developed by my team - Issue Templates Agent for Jira. Thanks to this super easy configuration, you can create templates (not only for Description but also other fields) which will be applied immediately on the Create issue screen. It's possible to create as many templates as you need for issue types, also with defining default templates.
@Tom Lister , you have to check our app 😉

Hello @Rose Ran
It's Aleksandra from Deviniti - the vendor of the Issue Templates for Jira app.
If you’re open to using a plugin and would like to accommodate other cases as well, as an alternative to Scriptrunner Behaviours or a default value, you could use our plugin to create different kinds of templates (e.g. for bug reports, feature requests, and all other repetitive tasks) and then use them to populate description in newly created Jira issues.
For more details, I encourage you to check our documentation here :)
Cheers!
Aleksandra
