Advanced Roadmaps- is there a way to "tag" a EPIC/Story so it doesn't go into all plans

Len Bergman March 13, 2023

Using Advanced Roadmaps, I have several Plans that are "pulling" from the same project.  Not all Initiative/EPICS/Stories from the project are part of all the plans (some plans have some and some have others).  Is there a way for me to "tag" an EPIC or story somehow with which plans I want them associated with when I create them?  Otherwise, all new EPICS/Stories going into all the plans and then need to be deleted.  Looking for a better option.

Thanks

Hello @Len Bergman

You can use a Filter to select the issues to include in the AR Plan.

There are a variety of options for "tagging" issues and then using those "tags" to select the issues in a filter. However, native Jira filter functionality does not support you creating a filter for Epics based on a "tag" and then getting all associated child issues.

If you want to apply the "tag" to all the relevant Epics and all the relevant child issues, then you could have one filter that selected both types of issues based on the same tag.

Thanks @Trudy Claspill

I was hoping to not have to use filters to achieve this. I'll continue to research.
