Hi,
I am using several Jira Automations for creating tasks after creating a new Epic.
All of a sudden it doesn't work anymore and I don't understand why because there were no changes.
Original & Wished Behaviour: Epic with the Project Type "Teststellung" was created manually by me. Automation creates a task linked to this Epic which is assigned to me.
New behaviour: Automation creates a task which is not linked to this Epic which is assigned to me.
To test it, I created a new Automation with only task (so I don't have to delete more than 10 independent tasks per try). Also I did this to test if the automation is broken by any chance.
This is my automation (see picture).
Any idea what could possibly be wrong here?
Thank you so much,
Jana
Hi @Jana Jäger
The Epic do not have value for Epic Link. You can try the smartvalue

@Florian Bonniec Do you maybe also have an idea how to add a subtask under the above created task? So far the other threads didn't help.

Hi
You could try something like this.
Using branch, Current Issue is now the latest created issue.

Hi @Florian Bonniec thank you. If I do exactly as in the Screenshot, a new Epic gets created.
Therefore I changed the "Same issue type" to "Task".
The Epic & Task are now connected but how do I connect the Subtask with the Task? Which field to set?
Epic Link {{triggerIssue}} is wrong here because then both task & subtask are directly under the Epic but the Subtask should be under the Task.
Parent issue must be "Current Issue" because the Automation fails when I use "Trigger issue". Therefore it must be a field to set I guess but I didn't find out which one. Any ideas?

Now I tried this & no subtask at all gets created.
"Issue type is a sub-task but parent issue key or id not specified. (issuetype)

Hi @Jana Jäger
Instead of copy from trigger issue, use copy from epic like below & it should work. Its working for me.
Thanks!
