Can a transition from Any be hidden in selected statuses?

Especially because workflow diagrams are limited, resulting in transition lines overlapping, I would rather have a transition that would work from Any using an automation based on a field, than several transitions that would require no or fewer automations.  However, it is not acceptable to have the transition from Any appearing in all states.  Is there a way of hiding an Any transition in selected states?

Hi @Phil Bustin ,

You can "hide" transitions based on Workflow Conditions. In your case, you should add the following condition in your "Any" transition :

"User Is In project role"

And select the "atlassian-addons-project-access" role which will allow only automation and other addons to see this transition (hence the transition won't be proposed to any user).

Let me know if it helps,

Guilhem

Thank you.  That would take care of transitions I want no one to see, because they are used by automation, but it would not hide transitions I want every user to see from selected states.  Any solution for that condition, please?

In the workflow customization course I'm taking for the second time, a viable solution is presented:  Use the same transition for multiple statuses.  I can create one transition and use it in several statuses, and apply an automation that triggers one or another transition, depending on a field value selected by the user.  I'd still be interested in whether I can create a regular transition from Any and hide it in selected states (apparently not).

Okay Phil I understand your problem, indeed I confirm this is not doable in Jira, you have to choose one of the other solutions like using several different transitions for example
