Can't see "Administrators" in Settings of admin.atlassian.com (so I cannot add new ORG admins)

Ɓukasz Lampka November 3, 2022

Hey there lovely people,

I have a problem stated in the topic. In short, I've followed this instruction: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-articles/How-To-Guide-Replacing-an-Organization-Administrator-in-an/ba-p/1732397 as well as this one https://support.atlassian.com/user-management/docs/give-users-admin-permissions/#Giveusersadminpermissions-Makeauseranorganizationadmin but there is an interesting story, as in some of my organizations (I have four registered on my email address) I can see the following tabs in Settings when entering admin.atlassian.com:

  • Details
  • Administrators
  • API keys
  • Application tunnels
  • Emails
  • Contacts

However, in others I can see the other list:

  • Details
  • Google Workspace (?)
  • Domains (?)
  • API keys
  • Application tunnels
  • Emails
  • Contacts

and I don't have the faintest idea what is the difference and why I can't see "Administrators" which is a problem, because I need to transfer ORG admin rights to my colleague, who is taking charge of the organization, as I left it and we don't want the data to be deleted.

Both organizations are registered by me, for the same e-mail address.

How, in this situation, I can transfer the ORG admin to the other user?

Many thanks in advance!
Lukasz

You're in the right support doc, but looking at the wrong section. The top of the page explains there are two possible interfaces for admin. The first half of the article explains how to use one interface, but the second half of the article repeats how to do the same things in the "Improved user management experience"

If you try following these instructions instead, does it work?

Great catch, @Majken Longlade !

@Majken Longlade Yep, it does! I somehow tuneled my vision towards the upper part of the doc, thanks for pointing me to the right direction!

Also, @Trudy Claspill thanks for your effort as well!

Case solved!

Hello @Ɓukasz Lampka

Do you have any paid product subscriptions in the sites in the organization?

Ɓukasz Lampka November 4, 2022

Hi @Trudy Claspill

I had, yes -> Jira Service Management standard plan trial. Now I've ended the trial and reverted to free. Nothing changed yet.

Is this related?

Best,
L.

I have only free products in my personal Organization and I also don't see the Administrator option, but I do see it in another Organization that has paid product plans.

I'm looking for documentation on this, but I'm wondering if the option only shows up for orgs that have paid product plans.

Funny thing is, I can see the Administrator option in 100% free organization, whereas in "paid" (as mentioned, I had only trial version of Jira Service Management opened by mistake), I can't see it.

But, the key point here is that: I'm leaving this org and wanted to transfer ownership to the other user. Maybe I don't need to use this "Administrator" option at all, any ideas? :)

I hope a @Trudy Claspill community leader answers this question because I also don't see the 'Administrator'. Although it shows that I am admin!
