Classic projects allow the creation of multiple boards under one major project header. Is this not yet possible in next gen boards (and is it planned)?
As a sidebar - on next gen projects, it also appears that epics only show up within the Roadmap feature and cannot show up on a Kanban board (which is something you can do in classic projects). Is that correct?
It is not possible to create a board other than the default for next-gen project. I’m unsure if this will change or not. You can send feedback to Atlassian via the feedback link under your profile icon. Also correct on the epic for roadmap view only.
I vote for multiple boards. Our process consists of 2 logical workflows- one for analysts when developing requirements and getting issues to a "sprint ready" state, which is Kanban, and another Scrum board for development. Both work off a single workflow, issue states determine which board the issue appears.

Agreed! We use separate boards for discovery and delivery. Love the new ease-of-use, but next-gen's priority seems to be lowering the bar. Classic can be a lot to chew.
Cheers.

yep. NG simply will not be able to replace classic anytime soon if ever.

I think we should be allowed multiple boards in next-gen...
I would also request to allow changes in the configurations for next-gen board... like name icon etc etc

well you can create a kanban board from a filter that is associated w/ an NG project.

I don't think its possible to use filters to create Boards in the NextGet style project. If that's not the case, could you please explain to me how ?

Yes you should be able to as I outlined above.

I am afraid that at step 9 there is a glitch.
I use next-gen project and i already have a scrum board.
I use all steps from 1-8 but at step 9 the location does not contain my project!
So unable to create.
Tip: Shows every other that is "Classic Software"

I agree with the thread....I love the Next Gen View, but the only way it really becomes functional for me is with multiple boards under one Project. I hope it's on the way soon.

This is the link for the feature: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSWCLOUD-17371 Just add your +1 and pretend Jira is not going to ignore the votes and look into it (mentioned in 2019 they were working on it :facepalm)

you can create a board in classic dashboard that only show the next-gen project tasks in a filter. Unfortunately it doesn't collapse by epic name properly. i don't know why

Hi, we need multiple boards, too. I’m living in both worlds now - 2 clients nextgen and one client legacy- and it’s a little disappointing to see key features missing from nextgen.
