Hello! New to Jira here. How do create different permission groups that restrict users on which Projects they will be able to access. For example, group A can access all Projects, while group B can access a couple of Projects only, not all.
Thanks!
Hi,
1. Create groups user-group1 and user-group2
2. Create a project role Reader.
3. Create a permission scheme to add Reader project role to the Browse Projects permission. Verify if any other permission you may want to give to this role.
5. Attach this permission scheme to Project A & B.
4. In project A users & roles, add user-group1 to the Reader role.
5. In project B users & roles, add user-group2 to the Reader role.
This way user-group1 has access to Project A only and user-group2 has access to Project B only.
Hope it helps.
regards,
sanmat
Sramanth & Sanmat,
Thanks for the responses! How can I create a "Role"? You mentioned "Reader" role, I only see "Administrator" role.
Thanks!

You can go to administration -> System and under Security, you can find the project roles.

Hi @Athens Silaban Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
you can create user groups and add those groups to the Browse project permission scheme.
For e.g. You can add group A to the Browse project permission on all the projects and add browse projects permission to group B only on those projects.
The recommended way is to add the group to a project role e.g. Administrator role or Developer role and add the role to the Browse project permission scheme.
However, if your projects are set up in such a way that groups are added to the permission scheme, you can add them directly to it.
