Disable email part of notifications only

How can i disable email notifications for a project, without also disabling notification altogether?

The bell icon, which shows notifications in the app, seems useful. However, spamming people with emails does not. I only found a way to disable a notification completely. Each user can also disable emails in their personal notification settings, but that doesn't work, if he or she is in two projects at the same time, and one of them is supposed to send emails.

Disassociate the Notification Scheme from a Project and have it as None

Thanks for your reply. It seems to be a misunderstanding on my side: I expected the top right bell icon labeled "notifications" (in-app-notifications) content to be identical to what one would receive as email notifications (e.g. changes to issues). This appears not to be the case, and in-app-notifications to not be configurable, at least at the point of a related answer.

Is this correct, and still the current state of these (apparently different) notification categories?
