Hi,
I am wanting to prevent users from editing issues at certain stages of the workflow using jira.issue.editable workflow property. However, I still need Automations to be able to change and update fields in all stages of the workflow.
Does disabling editing at certain stages using the jira.issue.editable workflow property still allow Automations to make edits? Or does it completely close off the issue to both manual and automatic edits?
Thanks in advance!
Hi @Patricia Paguio -
There are exception to automation bypassing certain settings. Try experimenting.
If the doesn't work, you can jira.permission.edit to deny the user group to edit while still slowing permission fro your automation.
Hi @Benjamin
I've done some testing and unfortunately, neither of these properties enabled Automation for Jira to make changes to the issue :(
I have tried
jira.issue.editable = false
and
jira.permission.edit = admin
Neither have been successful. I have raised a support ticket with Atlassian and hopefully they will be able to provide some insight

Hi @Patricia Paguio , I am facing the same problem in Jira 8.12.3. The property doesn't seem to have any impact. Did you get any response or did the bug land in the typical "gathering impact" hole? ;)
Cheers
