Hello,
I'd like to know if there's a way to natively manage, or even manage through a plugin the use case below.
I want to live edit my search result as if I was editing a table (like in excel).
It's a bit time consuming to enter each ticket and edit the appropriate field while I already filtered them thanks to JQL and column picking in the search view. In this precise view it would be a huge benefit to edit the displaying fields as if I was viewing an excel or a Google sheet or any Table of elements.
Thanks !
it sounds like JXL for Jira would be a perfect fit for you!
JXL is a full-fledged spreadsheet/table view for your issues that allows viewing, inline-editing, sorting and filtering by all your issue fields, much like you would do in Excel or Google Sheets. Each so-called sheet in JXL is based on a JQL statement, so many of our users use it as an addition to the native search view.
This is how it looks in action; I'm first updating the status of two issues individually, and then in bulk via copy/paste. You can do that with any other editable field as well.
It's worth noting that JXL can do much more than that: From inline-issue creation, to support for issue hierarchies and groupings, sum-ups, and conditional formatting. Any questions just let me know! (Disclaimer: I work on JXL :)
Hope this helps,
Best,
Hannes

Hello @Hannes Obweger - JXL for Jira ,
Just tried your plugin. It's what I needed !
I don't get why it's not native yet in Jira... While concurrents are natively making very adaptable editing features as your plugin does.
Thanks for your tool and your answer !
Have a good day,
Léo
