Hi Hoping someone can assist me. I have a field called "Submitted by" in several projects. Originally, it was listed as a required field. I followed the steps to make the field optional. I went to issues, then field configuration, selected the field and saw the "required" "optional" option. I noted that the little "Required" test was next to the field name so I do know that it was required. I then changed the field to optional and the little required text disappeared.
Done...right? Wrong. My field is still required. The little star is still showing in my projects and the field is required. yet, it is still not showing the required text in the configuration screen mentioned before. Any idea why this is happening and how to make the field optional. Thank you.
When is it required? At Create? Can you edit the workflow associated with the issue type and look at the create transition and see if by chance there is a validator there? The one thing that throws me off a bit though is the red Asterix which is not associated with a validator. But I still want to rule this out.
I just checked to confirm. No validator. I originally thought that might be it but knew that I did not set a validator.
