Hi, I am looking for a report where I can track the time spent by the users.

Hi, I am looking for a report where I can track the time spent by the users. By default we have a report(workload pie chart) based on time spent field data but it is showing the combined time spent data per issue....Ex: A developer will be adding 1hr and tester will be adding 30min for same issue and in report if I filter it by developers it shows 1hr 30min(which is total time spent by all the users) for that developer . If I change filter by testers it again shows 1hr 30 min but in reality testers input to the field is only 30 min. How can I make a report based on each user.

Hi @MahanthPrudhvi

If you are fine with a mktplace app, to get this data, you can try out our plugin

Agile Tools : Epic Tree, Links Tree, Time in Status & Worklogs

The app provides the following features.

Worklogs & Time tracking Report :- Track time spent by resources with multiple filters / category / grouping features. Export to csv format is also available. You can filter based on worklogs time period as well.

Disclaimer : I work for the vendor who built this app

Hi all thanks for all the responses. I have found an addon that meets my requirements.

Hi @rustriaa I am using Worklogs and Status Time Free addon's.

Worklogs:

By default we have time tracking in Jira which of course has to be updated manually.

All the team members working on one single issue have to input their worklog in a single field but this using this addon will separate this worklog data based on user. So we can generate user wise worklogs which will give team's worklog or activity.

Status Time Free:

This addon will give us the amount of time that every issue has spent in every status. This will also give us TAT.

I would say workflow has planned accordingly to get these data/reports.

By using above addon's and right workflow we are able to track how long the Dev team, Testing Team, BA team, Support Teams are taking to resolve every issue. It will also give us bottle necks in the process and teams.

Hi @MahanthPrudhvi

II think third party plugin could be a solution here. For example, ActivityTimeline plugin.

Hi @MahanthPrudhvi

I think what you're looking for is a Timesheet functionality. If you're ok with using a third-party app, I'd advise you to take a look at the Atlassian Marketplace. There are many time-tracking apps that provide this functionality. I strongly recommend our app, Clockwork. It has very customizable timesheets, and the Pro version also lets you store them as reports for reapplication.

As for built-in Jira capabilities, I'm baffled. I have no idea why your dashboard does not apply the selected user filters. Perhaps if you shared some screenshots we could look for errors in your setup.

Best regards!

Hi @Wojciech Wardaszko Thanks for the quick response.

I am not sure if its really error or not.

My issue here is- We have two fields

1. for developers which is assignee field

2. for testers which custom user profile field

both will be inputting data to same time spent field and I want to see them separately but when I check the Workload pie chart report it is showing total time spent value given by both developer and tester even though I selected only Assignee in the Issue statistic type.

Lets say I have created a workload pie chart based on filter that is project=xxx and in the pie chart configuration I have selected assignee field and for a certain assignee AAA it is showing 5hrs. If we get into more details AAA worked on an issue 1234 for 3hrs and his input to the field Time spent is 3hrs the remaining 2hrs done by tester BBB but in the report even though we are selecting Assignee it is showing 5hrs which is total time given by both assignees and testers.
