Hello Friends
Does anyone know how long it takes for jora to reindex if i change a project key
case is I am doing a migration between cloud instances there is one project that has a duplicate key I need to change the key of the project
i will need to extract the backup to copy the project’s attachments folder I want to know how long it will take for jira cloud to reindex that the name of the attachment folder should be changed to new key of the project
your response are highly appreciated
Hi, how are you planning on "doing a migration between cloud instances"?
Will you be using the following process?
https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/merge-multiple-instances-of-jira-cloud-779160767.html
If so, I would change the project key after you've imported the data into Data Center. You'll have more control and visibility into the indexing process.
Hi Darryl
I am using migration assistant I am asking this because one of my project name is actually a reserved word of windows operating system While extracting the backup to copy the attachments extraction fails, So I have decided to change the key of the project on the cloud before making backup for migration.

Ah thanks for clarifying.
I wonder if in this case you don't need to worry about reindexing, since that's primarily used for speeding up search results.
I'm thinking that if you just change a project key, you could immediately do a backup and that backup should have the new key, because I don't believe backups include indexes.

Just to confirm, the backup process doesn't even look at the index when building the export.

Thanks @Darryl Lee and @Nic Brough -Adaptavist-
I would give it a try on a test account.
your reply made me to feel relaxed :)
