Hello team

I want to add more customization values into the fix versions field, please guide me how to do it .

And please let me know how I can add the values as the options of the fix versions (as well as the affects version)

Thank you.

Hi @jing_guo

If you are using Scrum project please refer -Configuring versions in Scrum.

  1. Go to the Backlog of your Scrum project.

  2. Click VERSIONS on the left side of the board (aligned vertically) to open it.

  3. Click Create version (you will need to hover over the 'VERSIONS' panel to show this link), enter the version details, and create it.

For Kanban project refer - Configuring versions in Kanban.

  1. Click Jira home > Projects > Select the relevant project.

  2. Click VERSIONS on the left side of the project's board (aligned vertically) to open it.

  3. Click Create version (you will need to hover over the 'VERSIONS' panel to show this link), enter the version details, and create it.

Thank you @Kishan Sharma

I understand is that , if I create a version, the new release will be created.

I don't want to create a new release (version) actually, but want to add more values as the fix versions.

My requirement is :

- In a product / project release, there could be different modules / components which need to be implemented.  I would like to get those modules / components versioning in jira as well besides the project / product version.

You are correct, In Jira Software, versions represent points-in-time for a project. Once you create a version, the Affects version and Fix version fields will become available on your issues. Versions are then released to your environments.

Unfortunately this field does not meet your requirement, you can think of creating a new custom field with required values in it or check if you can use Component/s field which project admins can manage themselves.
