How to clone stories between projects

Hello, everyone.

I´d like to know if it´s possible to clone a story from a project to another in a way that anything that´s updated on the original story reflects on the cloned one.
Such as status, description, comments.. Pretty much everything.

Cloning a story from a project and keep updates in sync is possible through Exalate. This can be, either between multiple projects OR multiple Jira instances.

As I replied to Matthias, I´ve decided to go for another solution, creating a project and using queries to view issues from more than one project, all in one board.

Welcome to the community. 

This is not possible out of the box. If you clone an issue, it is independent from the source issue and will only contain the data from that issue.

You can try to build an automation rule that will do the synchronising. Otherwise an app like scriptrunner might help you, but that is probably more work as this might require scripting.

I think that you will need to use a plugin for achieve this or write some code (you may need to use API REST and listener)

to add on what the two other leaders said above: You need some tool to automate this synchronization. What you describe is a classic use case for an issue sync app. An issue sync app lets you define rules/scripts in order to keep issues across two projects (even across Jira instances) in sync.

I'm part of the Backbone Issue Sync team and would, of course, be glad when you test our app for this use case. But the other apps are also capable of doing that - you need to decide yourself which one fits best to your requirements.
