How to create a non editable custom field?

Hi All,

I am looking to create a custom field (i.e. Original Effort Estimate) and make this field non editable once the user inputs the value to the field while creating the story.

Currently users can edit the value of any of the custom fields created. I want to restrict the editing once the value is inputted.

when do you fill this field?

you could create a screen scheme for issue creation with you field (and make it mandatory to be filled)

the 2 other screens for view (with the field) and edit (without the field) issue

or maybe with a script solution

once the issue is not empty, if the value was changed, the script addon changes it back to the original value

maybe there is some addon in the marketplace for some visibility stuff. i tried some of them, but they did not work for me....

I created screen scheme for issue creation with the field and other screen scheme for editing without the field.

It worked for me.
