This has been asked by many projects managers, leads and compliance administrator that if the copy paste be disabled in mobile Jira app including printscreen else it can be shared with others. Normally many organizations allow approvers and users to login from a mobile device viz cell phone, tablet etc and update/ approve/reject the issue/project. There is a security/compliance concern that data/info from those projects/issues may be leaked/shared to other people outside the organization. Everyone want the works, data, or details of their project be not shared with any other person outside the group let alone outside of the organization. Can this be done in Jira?
Yes, you can set the Mobile policy in Jira as below to achieve this. This is a very much required in today`s fast-paced world. You will be amazed to see that the print screen will come as dark and No Paste be allowed. Let me know if you have any issue.
Login as Admin, go to Security ->Mobile App Policy and click Edit for the Default Policy and set the policy as below
A. Apply this policy to all users
B. App Data Protection
1. Disable sharing, saving, or backing up content from mobile app
2. Disable cutting or copying content from mobile app
C. App Access Requirements
1. Block compromised devices
2. Required data encryption
3. Required biometric authentication or a device passcode
4. Require minimum OS version
a. Android 11
b. IOS 14
Click Update policy to apply.
Download the Jira app in your phone, login as any user and try to copy any data or info (few words to few lines or a whole screen), you won't be able to paste it outside the Jira app, not even to your message, notepad or chat.
Does this also block screenshots?
